All the Qs asked in PC's post are pertinent to understand what might be going on in his tank. How is he eating/swimming? Looks like possible Lymphocystis .

I change my water everyweek 20% of the water. There are no other fish. It's a 72 gallon bowfront. Ph is 7.3 , everything seems fine.. I feed him mostly frozen krill and live crayfish every so often. He hasn't eaten in almost 2 weeks now. I had him in a 10 gallon for 2 weeks now trying some medicines but nothing has helped. Just today I put him back in my regular tank. Also keep in mind Im no pro when it comes to this stuff I'm slowly learning

Most importantly, we need to know your water parameters: ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. What meds have you been trying & for how long? Puffers are very sensitive to meds. At what stage of all this did he stop eating?

That diet is pretty poor: http://www.**************.com/forum/library/feeding/feeding-your-puffers/

That 72 bow front is too small of a tank for him.

If you have had hime for 8 months, that puts him around 7-8 inches. Did you put an 8 in puffer in a ten gallon for weeks?

Yeah, I'm not really sure why he was in QT, because IDK what meds she was using.

Ok , I will tell you the parameters later today don't know them off by heart. But the mess have been furan-2 and I've tried prazil pro.. These mess have been going on for a week and a half in my 10 gallon. And he stopped eating 2 weeks ago. Thanks for that link to the food by the way! I feel like an idiot now only feeding him what I have been. I'll be working all day so I'll check all the water tonight then post a reply

I was told to put him in that tank that he would be fine in there by the people at the fish store? That was a bad idea?

Having a separate quarantine tank is a good idea, but a ten gallon cannot handle the bioload of a puffer that big. He could probably barely turn around in a ten gallon. You probably increased his stress level by 100%, which makes him more susceptible to disease. It doea not matter what meds you put in, if the fish is under that much stress.

In the future, if you need to quarantine a large fish you need a larger tank.

Do you know the water parameters of the 10 gallon?

If you do not remember specific numbers for the 72, do you remember if you were showing ammonia or nitrates?
