It depends on what one considers a PH shift....

Tap water PH always and constantly mantained in a high bio load tank is only possible if you change huge amounts of water daily, and even so doubtfully...

And that kind of change is more detrimental than good, imho

I know some do. But mainly through constant flow and not a "normal change"

My above statement was based, solely, omho....
 
I also do 90% weekly WC on my discus tanks & 75% on all my other FW tanks.
 
"weekly" being the key word.
