I can comprehend your response, but doesn't mean I agree with it. 1-1.5" per month seems under-average for silvers IME. Maybe for small silvers thats reasonable, but they really start growing fast around the 8" mark. Then slow down around 24". I suppose it really depends on whether they are babies, juvies, sub-adults, or adults. Growth rates seem to change depending on this. There is no one answer for the lifetime growth rate because it definitely changes.

My silver eats once a day now and he's 23-24". Slowed down around 18-20" and really bulked up.

Really? So where is the flaming? Or maybe your definition of flaming is when someone disagrees with you.

1-1.5" is not average yet your aro has grown from 10" to 23- 24" in 9 months and from just a wee baby (2") to 24" in 21 months.

Sounds about average to me, I'm just glad to see you've cut back on feedings and are no longer grossly overfeeding it.

im feeding mine once a day every day except on water change day i starve them out and my arowana is growing fast as hell to me but it is average growth.

I got my Silver Arowana on December 6, 2009 at about 5 to 6 inches. As of April 8, 2010 he is close to about 12 inches.

So, that a little over 1.5 inches per month.

Diet:

Initially: Blood Worms, occasional shrimp/squid (cleaned).

Currently: Fresh market shrimp, (trying to find a steady source of earthworms without having to start my own culture)

Haven't yet had the nerve to starve the little guy for pellet-training.

Yes, you can. Think about it. An oscar can be 12" when it's a year old, so a 2' Arowana a year after buying it at 3" isnt really surprising.
