Silver Arowana Longevity?

I have a freind here in Seattle with a pair of silvers that are 18YO.

i wish we had some pics of these older Arows.. i would love to see 18 year olds..that is great!
 
hes kinda small for being that old

My 2 silver arowanas are 1.2 years old, and are already 24"+.

good job keeping him for so long though :)

all arows are different.. as with any other species.. it is in the genes!

Anyone have any dealings with them or know about their tanks? Seems acrylic is the way to go for any tanks over 200gal. I'll be sure to post a pic of my aro in the oldest aro thread.
 
Hope you don't mind OnTarget, but your silver seems to have dropeye on the right side. How long has he been like this? Is the left eye similarly affected? I'm curious because I also have a 22"-long yearling.
