I was wondering if anyone here has tried this combo with good results....I know that most of you without even having personal experience would say the aro would eat all the tetra....from what I seen when I used to feed my large aro goldfish, I would say the same....but....tetra's are shool fish and with enough cover....plants, etc. they could school together and breed to keep numbers up. Tetra's are also a lot faster than goldfish and do not act the same. They have bodies made for quick swimming and fast movements. Anyhow, I REALLY like this idea....I have a 8foot tank about 500g.....have 3 small silver aro in it......Here is a video I came across...the person said he has no problems.....

Once your aros are larger I don't see a problem with the mix. Your younger aros will chow down though so you may have to Waite awhile.

I was thinking the same thing;)

hmmm interesting idea. i might try that too. though i do not have a quarantine tank ... but seems like an interesting idea ...

Yeah when my black was 18" it couldn't care less about the cardinal tetras, but loved to chow down on congo tetras:irked:

you need lots of plants for cover, also too many tetra to keep the balance maintained. if the aro is well fed with few fish, it won't kill others without a cause.
