might heal with stub, when it's that far down it's usually permanent Hafta ask, what size is the Fl Gar?

wow.. I have a hard time seeing a good ending on this one.. but still.. keep the water pristine.. if you can, quarantine it to guarantee no further damage..

Very sad, no way the tail will grow back. Looks like the back 1//4 of the aro is gone. What ever possessed you to put a baby aro in with a gar?

Cut the guy some slack, Obviously he did not intentionally buy that aro to have it be half eaten and post it on here for show. That aro is badass, he got his battle scars to prove it. At least hes still breathing, my rtc ate my jardini whole 4 years back, and they were roughly the same size.

Mine lost almost it´s whole tail, it growd out in 3 weeks
Scales take longer than 3 weeks to grow back...Are you saying your Arowana lost it's tail and it grew back in 3 weeks?

As said above, isolate so there will be no more picking on him now that he is weakened, Keep the water perfect alot of small w/c's, a bit of salt and Melafix and watch for secondary infections...If it does heal up, the Aro will have no tail fin, doesn't mean he can't live and grow old, it means he'll have a fishy limp...

He's posting on a public forum. Seems to have been laking in research. I see no reason to "cut some slack".

Yes they can grow quick, it took a baby black I had less then 5 weeks to grow back its tail.

Yeaa, but at the same time, he obviously didnt use common sense nor do research if he decided it was smart to put a 4"er into a tank with a gar inside...

Wow that's fast!...what happened to it's tail?

The one I had got beat up by two other baby blacks. Then the tail was infected with what looked like fungus and it came off.
