Heres the difference between Black(blue) arowana and Silver arowana fry. A Platinum arowana wouldn't have any color but white. Whereas a regular Silver arowana might have a little pink,blue, yellow speckled throughout its fins and body. Just think uniform color for the platinum and realize your going to hard pressed to find a real platinum, let alone a Black, for 130$.

Through one of the suppliers I use I've seen a silver arowana dyed blue. Price ended up being around $160 CDN retail. Was advertised on the list as blue silver arowana.

As far as Black Arowanas juvenile for $120 CDN is the most recent price I've seen.

Thank you so much. I will look into this. This helps a ton. I am going to LFS maybe this weekend if my child will cooperate. (10 weeks yesterday) When I make it i'll post pictures and hopefully figure it out. It sounds to me as a guess these are just silvers that have a blue tint to them still. That is pure speculation but from what everyone has said that is my thought. Seems like a lot for a silver but if the quality is there maybe its worth it. I don't know I am a newbie to the monsters

I couldn't believe a LFS had baby silvers in stock for $15 for juvies about that size last week. The past few years prices have really dropped.

Hey a little update. I talked to the gentlemen who is carrying this fish. He is currently on vacation and cannot get me pictures. He called the arowana a blue platinum. He said they are 8". I will pass along pictures as soon as I get them. Does this ring a bell as a fish that even exist? I have never heard of a blue platinum. Thanks
