Hey great tank man I have two Mono's anf 5 Tems that I am growing out and will be putting looking forward to having an impressive bunch of Cichla like yourself.
I have a 500g tank planned for next year that I am still tossing around ideas for it's final size.
I thought 8x3.5x2.5 would be perfect but now think that 4foot wide may be better, what do you think mate??
Do you find three feet sufficient for your bad boys??

3 feet seems to be working fine right now..
when i upgrade though im definately thinking 4ft would be a good width for a lot of cichla for life.. for example both R1's & Diselmacks cichla tanks i believe are 4ft wide too and their setups are pretty much what most of us aim for..
the 8x3.5x2.5 dosent sound too bad.. but if you can go the 4ft width and itll be alright in your hosue.. than go for that

To be honest though I think your tank is awesome and once your pack get bigger that's gonna be one great collection you've got going especially with the green aro and dats!
Apologize to your girlfriend for me mate and let her know it's just the cichla ADDICTION
