All kinds of strange advice here. If you are keeping what you have then you will not want any peacocks or labs for a 55. You will want to wait. The "bluefish" can breed with the others, but are not the same fish. If you are breeding the best bet is get pure breeds on the same type of fish and do a species only. If you want mixed do not plan on having pure breed babies born. They may look it, but you can not be 100% sure.

In a 55 with what you have and what they will be when full grown I would add a few more. Maybe a zebra, or demasoni. Something that can hold's it own.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try and get hold of some. BTW, what are the advantages/ disadvantages of having a species only tank/ breeding pures?

If you are keeping all of the offspring, there is no advantage. If you plan on selling the offspring, then you will want purebreds. Most people won't buy mystery hybrids.

Rite. Thanks for that. I think I'll go and see what the LFS has available, and then if theres anything which I like in particular, I may take these back, so I can do a species tank.

BTW, What do you guys think of this setup? What can I do to improve it to more suit the fish which I've already got in there, and the fish which you guy have proposed/other Mbuna's?

Cheers

P.S - My camera phone isn't too great as you can see!

How much rock do you think I need? About half the amount I have? Are bigger rocks better than smaller rocks? I'm just thinking about caves etc....

Right...I'll change it around a little bit - maybe next time I got and get more mbunas so that the terretories get broken up too....

Any other ideas on what my next additions should be? So far I'm thinking Labs, but not sure. I couldn't put a trio of peacocks in there could I?

Right we got the IDs, now to the new question: what to put with them.

I would search the link that cichlidgirl gave you and ask about ones you like. This way you narrow down the long list of choices.
