All my lfs carry firemouths. But I'm not sure which has best quality. The 2 closest to me have them but 1 sold out and has them on order. The other has 3 at about 1.5-2". There colours are washed out but still red on the belly. Should I buy all 3? My other lfs has them but they are the 4" size and don't look like anything special. It's also farther from me

I have to agree as well. Neither fish seems to have much personality as far as interaction with their owner (which is why I have severum), but firemouths seem to be more interesting with the way they flare their throats when they get aggressive. From all I have read online, firemouths are mostly bark with little bite.

I also love the coloration of salvini, but I read nightmare stories about their aggression levels when they breed. Would almost put a breeding convict in the "mildly" aggressive category for me. LOL
