Would you rather have a single fish as the main attraction in your tank or a community of different fishes?

Per your sig., that single O is enough for that 75 once he grows out.
Smaller fish ? Maybe a Severum as a centerpiece and some smaller schooling fish for background activity.

Actually, a single fish would be the "main attraction" would it not ? :)

I can't think of a single fish I'd be satisfied with. A shoal or a colony of a single species is about as "single" as I'd like.

Depends what size tank and what fish. With smaller tanks under 55G, I much prefer lots of fish. But when you bigger, say 150G, having lots just doesnt do it for me. I'd prefer some cichlids, bottom dwellers and stuff. Of course, I'd still consider having a huge planted tank if the finnacial side of it wasnt a problem.

I have a single species tank a 75 with a single male midas but i have 10 tanks running right now so ... if i only had one tank i would rather have a semi aggresive community but lovvvvve my midas wouldnt trade him for anything

I have a solitary fish aquarium,it belongs to my wolf, and I'm not happy with it.
It's not the wolves fault,he's cool as hell,I just wish I could trust him more with tankmates....he's never killed anything,I just don't trust him is all.:irked:

Someday he will go with natives:naughty:

I could honestly live with one huge tank for my RTC Lucy although it would be tough parting with Pinky the aro....oh and Houdini the MRTC...and then.....

Never mind...having one fish wont work....LOL

if I had a one-fish tank, I would probably eventually load it with other fish, then buy another tank just for that one fish, then load that tank, then move the fish to a new tank, and then buy more fish and...

No, I can't control myself when I think a tank looks a little understocked

I actually love both ways of stocking. Like my 125 as of now only has a Midas and a Jag in it and I am satisfied with that because even at 9 and 6 inches the tank looks stocked to me lol. I just can't imagine what it would look like with a bunch of 12" full grown fish. I wouldn't like it all that much and plus I think overstocked CA cichlid tanks look a little crappy because it takes away from the beauty of one particular fish that should be the center piece. Now I love huge tanks of big groups of geo's and catfish. Now that just looks awesome. I will eventually keep a wet pet tank but as of now I am happy.
