Arowana are cool as well really awesome to watch em jump and snag crickets out of the top of water when they are small.

Snakeheads are banned in USA. Check the OP's location first.

Yes, yes, yes.....

You can get all the recommendations you want, but until you know the size of the tank, people just throwing names out to you is almost worthless. Unless you just have money at will to buy whatever tank you want, you can't plan the tank around the fish, you need to plan the fish around the tank. Rule #2.3.113 in the fishkeepers guide to healthy, longliving fish....:D

I agree . Theres a plethera of bad information in this thread . A jag in a 55 and P-Bass in a 125 Whoaaaa . Get the biggest tank you can afford , I didnt and i regret it . Then pick out the fish. Happy Fishkeeping

Common wold will kill anything,55-75 gallons Id suggest 75

^^^ agree, get a tank first. then get ur monster fish. good luck.

yes i know lol thats why i cant find them it just sucks how i didnt have them before the ban :( so any other suggestions on fish will be good

yea i know but i can afford a somewhat large tank around 125 to 150 gal tank so MORE suggestions please. And the reason why i am planning the tank around the fish is because i can afford it and need a main show piece fish.

The 'best' predator with a low cost to coolness factor would likely be a Peacock bass in my opinion. You can buy them tiny and young for as low as $15, and as high as say $80. They get 20" and upwards depending on species. Would require a large tank of 220+ gallons. And even more interesting is the possibility of breeding, where you would buy in between a half and a dozen youngsters and grow them out and pick out the large male and female, and sell off the others.

These guys have huge mouths, and smack their food with incredible force. Check some Feeding videos online.

i agree go with the bass tank, with different strains like azuls, tems, pinimas, orinos etc.

Get a 180 and a MBU puffer . If i wanted a single specimen large tank thats what i would do . And if you get tired of the the 180 is a good enough footprint to keep almost any other thing you may fall in love with
