maybe it was just an normal oscar with different different markings...

oh and a picture would really help...

Well they base their stocking levels on keeping Nitrate below 20 ppm with one big water change a week.

Reasonable and I agree with them mostly but yes some people like to jump down other's throats. Didn't seem very fiendly to me at first but since I am on board with their stocking assessments (more or less) I don't find it bad anymore.

When I was first doing my research and asking questions though I found it a little hostile.

The O spot is another good one but not nearly as active. No hostility there though and a little more liberal on the stocking levels.

maybe you should buy a python lol :nilly::ROFL:

Maybe the "weight lifting" is welcome?...... I am an athelete, who now has kids. It replaces lost gym time.......

The mods and advice team seem to think they know everything over there, and if you dont agree with them then you are an idiot...:screwy:

My old lady loves Oscars, I don't, but anyway, she shows me responses to posts over there. We laugh and call them "the tank nazis". One of the mods or advisor or whatever, thinks she's a damn expert on everything because she has a couple of Os and a few other fish. Hell, I was keeping fish 15 years before she was born, and I still learn new stuff all the time! My favorite line from over there if they don't like your setup is "take the fish back". Any time someone asks a question, the first response is, "what is the tank size"? The funny thing is, I'd bet my pay check none of the advice team have a tank over 125 gals, not even big enough for my aro. :D

The only thing that will dictate my stocking levels is my filter and aggression issues not a bunch of people that think they know what they are doing and ban everyone who knows they arent right...

to me they are just lazy fish keepers I do 50-75% water changes every 3 days...

I like how they expect you to spend say $1000-2000 for a full setup (brand new) to house 1-3 fish? wtf $1000 a fish I dont think so ha ha but I like my setup, I have bottom, middle, and top dwelling fish (although I have spent a small fortune...):D

Oscarfish.com is not a bad website at all.

Sure it's extremely annoying how they assign fish gallon numbers. That is simply ridiculous because of the variables involved. But honestly, they take the approach that they are speaking to beginners who will not change their water every three days or w/e.

When it comes to oscar health (stocking levels aside) you can't go anywhere better on the web to find answers.
