open bag and just drop a air stone in ther let them wake up

This is absolutely the worst thing you could so with a shipped fish. The airstone will rapidly dissolve co2, raise the ph and release ammonia that WAS in the form of ammonium in the aged water.
No matter what you want to squirt in an ammonia neutralizer like amquel plus or prime right when you open the bag.

ok.. dump it in the tank then!! i'm not a chemist so i'm not going to dispute your theory (assuming that you are ..) , but i have dripped acclimated my fish before and they didn't die. so to each his own, i will still open the bag, drip acclimate them before putting them in..

WROOOOOOOOOOOONG. DO NOT open the bags and then leave the fish in there for several hours. Guaranteed death; CO2 leaves solution, ph rises, ammonium converts into toxic ammonia, fish die. All around bad time.

In fact, I would recommend having your uncle pour the fish into nets and release them into their tanks. The situation described above is thought by some to be worse than any kind of damage caused by drip acclimation, and I tend to agree with them based on my own experience and what few anecdotes I've seen. Here's a thread I started a while back about this: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=370895
Keep in mind I'm not amazingly experienced with this, I've only received one shipment, but based on a couple hours' research before receiving the shipment, I decided on netting the fish into their tank. No issues.

That's fine. Just don't open the bag until you're ready to start acclimation.

One small point, whether or not to open the bag depends on the type of bag, if it's a regular plastic bag that's been pumped full of O2 and then tied then opening and leaving them in there will cause problems (as already stated). But if they're in Kordon Breather bags then you can open them. The Kordon bags allow CO2 to leech out of the water and O2 to be drawn back in.

i think the breather bags are meant for under 2 hour transports.

The bags can be used for as long as you can maintain temp, they don't 'run out' of the ability to release CO2 or admit O2. From the manuf. :
"During tests, fishes, both freshwater and marine, have survived for one month and more in shipment, including on successive flights and land transportation. However, there is no uniform answer as to how long individual shipments will survive using Breathing Bags. There are many variables. Under a wide range of conditions it should be weeks for successful shipments. It is suggested that tests be conducted at the user's facility to determine the proper parameters for successful use of these bags. "
