Howdy,

The fact that you can detect ammonia means that you have insufficient biofiltration or rotting biomatter in your tank. Make sure to address that before you add a clam. Ammonia and nitrite must be undetectable!

Any fish or crust. will give off ammonia! As stated above your lacking BB and ur ammonia isnt being fully converted to nitrates!

Change 50% of the water and it will be half the ppm! And yes the amazon bio colorant is awesome, my p's love it and so do i, a piranha shouldnt have 100% clear water, imo its not natural for them but so is keeping them in aquariums!

FYI: Clams are about 10-times more sensitive to nitrite toxicity than most fish species...

My ph hasnt changed at all, and its been about 8 weeks. This stuff is so incredibly strong that one cap is enough for a 90gal. By far one of the best products ive found for true amazon conditions!

And it had enzymes that further break down waste and if u dont run carbon it helps with the smell ten fold!

What makes you think it would alter ph??
As long as you buffer capacity is normal id think its fine
