Slipknot is a joke....

Gwar is great....

As far as an entertaining stage show goes. Musically they both suck.

Everyone's entitled to thier own opinion. I think your opinion sucks.

Ok, you're saying now that SlipKnoT are too extreme. Pre volume 3, without corey, shawn used to get a barny costume (Big purple dinosaur) and run around on fire, not just bits of him, his full suit on fire, even the souls of his shoes. Mate, feed, kill repeat is just a joke to me, you know how they recorded it? In a basement with carpet on the walls, and they said the room smelled like cat piss..

Would you say 9 members is extreme? Each member has a specific role in the band. Lots of people say craig, chris, shawn and sid are just there for show, because on some songs they fight. well, Craig is the music sampler/mixer i.e key boards, sid is the dj or turntables, shawn and chris are drums/custom percussion. No way would SlipKnoT get where they are without these people. When shawn made the band, he wanted to make it like nothing else, he wanted three drummers, the main drums (joey) and two drummers either side of joey (originally, shawn was the main drums).

SlipKnoT are skilled musicians, just like any band that gets as far as having a record label (bar cannibal corpse LOL). SlipKnoT put on a good show, sure, it's not for some people. I bet any one of yous that have said SlipKnoT suck deserve to watch some more of there videos.. If SlipKnoT were a joke how did they get so big, theres something for yous to think about.

k, I'm done.

<<Slipknot fan. No one can say they aren't talented. None of the bands mentioned in comparison have any more talent than Slipknot. Nor is Slipknot any more noise than any of the others listed. ;) I've had the luxury of going to one of their shows, and it was awesome. Theatrics do matter. I've seen bands that I liked their music on disc, but live they were like stumps in the ground. Slipknot, Korn, and Static-X are on top of my "seen live" list as bad ***. In a similarly opposite comparison to Slipknot going from good to sucking, I feel the same about Linkin Park (since they were mentioned). Saw them live before they were even a name (they opened for Kottonmouth Kings if that tells you how small they were) and they were killer. Their first cd came out......then everything after went to the umm...."seeking the same gender" side. To each their own.

gwar makes me sad...

As far as the "no one can say slipnot isn't talented" thing, I can.

I'll bend, they have more talent than a lot of these ass clowns out there today. How did they get so big? Marketing. Go to college, you'll understand.

Nirvana was the same way.

1) Kurt Cobain sucked at guitar
2) Kurt Cobain sucked at singing
3) Kurt Cobain sucked at writing music
4) Kurt Cobain killed himself
5) Now he was a visionary

Do you think anyone would know who Nirvana is if he (Kurt)was still alive? Hell no.

I will admit, I am not a fan of heavy metal. My taste ends at disturbed and avenged 7x. This does not mean I don't appreciate good musicians making this type of music. I don't like Children of Bodom, but they are absolutely amazing musicians (well, a bit too much on double base pedal, but that's this music generations answer to a good drummer playing up beat music). Overly distorted power chords does not equal good guitar playing, no does sloppy wailing/thrashing. I hate metallica, but Kirk Hammet is one of the best guitarists (read: Classically Trained).

I thought about it, still feel the same way. Muse has 3 members. Wow, they do an excellent job of creating an awesome sound. With only 54 members to spare!
