Slow Endli growth normal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It appears to be poor genetics. Kink in the spine happened to me on one of the two wetspot Endlis, and other grew exceptionally fast from 3” to 14” in 6 months. The one with a kink took about 12 months to hit 15” from 3”.

They didn’t hit a growth spurt until after 7- 8”. That’s when they started getting thicker and produced a much heavier appetite. My theory is that they were in a 75gal by themselves. I feel Having no tankmates slowed it down in the beginning in my case.

Then these pictures are of him on Jan 16th, 2019, just over a year later:

He is in my 220 now.
Yeah I'm sadly thinking it's poor genes again. That really stinks if so because that'll be 3 CB endlis in a row that turn out to be duds. Don't get me wrong, I gave my 1st as best of life as I could but every poly keeper wants that monster endli and I really want some more LJs to join the rest of my gang.

I know I could go WC, but I've raised all my polys (CB) from small babies as that's part of what I like. That and my wife doesn't like the idea of wild caught...

I noticed the spine. Only guess is they arent getting there share of food based off the tankmates. Snookes and oscars have pretty big appetites

As much as we love ws. They do sell some deformed fish. Remember the moke i had with no finlets...smh

Those two have only been in the tank for about 2 weeks. Think it's poor genetics...
