Small Marble Motoro-Mama

Here they are Kev,the parents and pups,the small pale coloured pup is approx 4 months old,the larger one 8 months,you can see the pattern has changed a lot from the youngest to the oldest.Dont know if you can see from the picture but the mother is expecting again,the first time she had 2 pups,male and female,the second time was a single male, shown,she will be giving birth very soon again,shes the same size now as when she had two the first time so fingers crossed.These pups are a good size when they are born, 14cm discs.

Thats one of the reasons for showing these pups and their parents,pretty much all marble pups look similar,the thing is when they mature some turn into so called AAAs and others turn into very nice fish,unless you can trace the parentage back ie.captive bred stock, then its always going to be a gamble.If say you pay a lot of money for a wild caught ray purely on the say so of the vendor,then it may or may not be the fish of your dreams,if its a good price and your happy thats great but if you pay an absolute fortune then you are right to demand quality!
 
Dont know if anyone has or knows of anyone selling adult marbles of this quality in the UK,i would love another female to compliment my pair,my male simply cant get enough!!..hes a real pest when the female is gravid.

I was offered a female for $1K but it doesn't look anywhere near that quality.

Hi DB,regarding the value of these rays i suppose its all down to what people value them at,in the Uk Pearls for instance fetch between £600 and £750,not all Pearls are stunning fish are they? in my opinion these AAAs should be right up there with them......at the very least!
Anyone else got any views on this subject?
 
Are you keeping these 2 pups? Please update with pictures as they grow. It will be interesting to see if they turn out like their parents.

Do you know the parents of your adult pair?

yes i am keeping the pups for at least another 12 months,i have 2 males and 1 female upto now,theres more due any time,i plan to keep those also then sell or swap after that.I want to watch these pups change as they grow,i will keep everyone updated on their progress.
These rays have been with me for 9 years now,they were wild caught.
 
ohh wow thats deffinetly one of the best marbles ive ever seen
