Back to seriousness...you can use some mouse pads (neoprene) to cut gaskets from too. Again don't over-tighten.

I thank everybody for their responses. I didn't think to use Teflon tape on this connection for some reason. I used it on all the ball valves and they are holding well. I've never used it on the up or down connections on my overflows. I have a single overflow tank at work 75 gallon (fresh) and didn't use Teflon tape and never had a problem. Also, I didn't use it on the overflows for this tank either.

I did cut gaskets for it. I'm going to try to use the Teflon tape tonight and reconnect it. If it is still leaking, I'm going to go with silicone. I'm hopeful that the Teflon tape will fix it.

Also the surge protector is just on the ground for now. I'm going to mount it after I finish getting the tank setup...

CHOMPERS, your more of a senior member here so you of all people should know to give complete information! What flavor? :D

ABC gum is the thickest. I'm thinking asphalt flavor.

I try not to use silicon either but I had one bulkhead that just would not quit leaking. I even tried a new gasket. Found a tube of pure silicon to smear on the gasket and no leak.

East coast or west coast asphalt? :)

East coast. I've never tasted gum that has spent time on west coast asphalt.

Make sure whatever you create. That you can comfortably leave the house for a week without worrying about leaks. I mean this. You clearly have some talent and have built quite the system just saying .... be careful
