Africans get about 12" long. Tiger knives get about 2 feet, so they're out of the question.

thx man!!!
any1 know any thing on the ossa knives?
lol, should have just asked the Knife guy. ;)
The Ossa gets to 18", and if I'm correct that is fairly larger than what you're looking for. They are very peaceful, but not very active. Spend the day laying on the bottom of the tank until night. They will eat bloodworms and black worms. Very cool species of Knife, just wish they were more active.

And also just to warn you, the Centipede Knife will spend the day laying on the bottom of the tank. They will eat only at night, and are fairly hard to feed seems how you have to make sure that they tank mates don't get to it first. I have only been able to get them to eat Bloodworms, very picky eaters.

Another idea would be a Glass Knife which like to travel in groups of 3+, and are fairly active. Males get to 18" over time (Few years maybe) but the females stay at 8". Just an idea. ;) They are also fairly common, compared to the Centipede Knife, and are normally around $8 for a 5-6".

thx again man i looked at those and i really didnt like them to much,
and from what you said the centipides aint sounding like the way to go either cuz i love my catfish,
i have a syno erupt and plan on adding 2 jag cats in the near future and the competion would b to much for those knives i take it....

If you don't like fish that hides then forget adding some jag catfish in the future. They will only come out from hiding during night time.

If you plan on adding an african brown with your angel fish and other slow moving fish with flashy fins. then forget the african brown knife as it will only nip those fish.

ay guy....... my syno hides my pleco hides ... im not worried about the fish hiding,
i like when fish hide it makes it that much better to see them once in awhile..thats while ill b adding leaf fish, cuz they hide or atleast look like they hide, and honestly i think those glass knives r hideous looking,
thats why i dont like them..and besides that i dunno how to sex them and the chance of getting a male only to grow out to 18 inches is not what i want, cuz then id have to sell him and i dont like doing that......
but thx for the info on the nippyness
