"Right but I had my parameters in check and water changed every week tho.:("

When I said that I was refering to the 30 gallon tank, while the channel cat was is there. Thats why I said HAD and CHANGED. PAST TENSE BUDDY!

And you know what bderek. I still havnt changed the water. Gets you mad? Well I dont give two $H!T$ about what you think. Also, Im not going to change it until I have /a nitrate/s. You obviously dont have an education because you can't comprehend anything us normal people say.

ok lets learn how to read.

You(as in bderek) are unwanted(don't come back) because you say rediculous(nonsence) things that dont make sense(retarted).

Do you understand that? Or would you like me to repeat it?

ok, i really like the way arowannas look, but i don't really have the funds to house a silver. so i want to know what the smallest aro is. i know that asians are pretty small compared to the others, so what is the smallest, cheapest aro out there?

Sorry Conner, this thread went way of course. As you can see there is a varied debate on this subject. So pull what decent info you can out of this thread. You can always go the grow out method, Buy the fish you want house it in the tank you have and keep moving to a larger tank. I myself am doing this with my silver. My aro will never be in a tank that has a lenght shorter than 3x the fish. The following is the tanks my silver aro has been in. I have owned for almost 13 months and got him at 3- 3.5" long.

55g until 8" long, 75g until 14" long, now is in a 120 gallon, and will be in a 300gallon by the end of summer. I do have a empty 150(8foot long) but I dought he will see that tank.

Good luck and enjoy your fish.

Arowa a 91 I will no longer debate with you in this thread, I will how ever hammer you in your channel cat thread. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58198

sorry you misunderstood, the experience is from keeping a large fish in a small tank, no it wasn't a jar, but it was proof enough to see that silver in a 4 foot tank.

Like keeping large monsters in a 70 gallon tank?

bigger is always better of course... but the original question was:

this is why i answered 4x2x2.

reason why i get my information from arofanatics is because they obviously keep a monster fish and it is more of a specific forum for people who only want to talk about arowanas and pretty much majority of them only have arowanas. reason why i would listen to them is because they only deal with arowanas and im sure they know their arowanas. plus they have competitions in asia specifically for arowanas. arowanas are farm raised in asia and im sure plenty of those owners know what they are talking about especially spending 300 for a green aro to thousands of dollars. if they say 4x2x2 is good enough for them... its good enough for me. my jar was only $20... and its housed in a 170... their 3k XB is housed in a 4x2x2... i believe in them.

also benzjamin13 is correct... twice the length of fish and enough space for them to turn.

I agree with that for larger fish, but not all fish. Like how about a 1" neon tetra in a 2"x1"x1" Dosent always work, but in most cases yes.

Please don't take that statement out of context, it is directed at a single individual. Search though his posts you'll see what I mean. People(both adults and teens) do need to be responsable in posting correct info. of course alot of the postings are opinons too, and we've all seen how much that varies.

Right so leave me alone. I can say what ever I want, do what ever I want with my fish, and what can yo do? Sit and watch your 70g Aro tank? I can have my tanks what ever way I choose. And, they look pretty happy to me.
