Ok Liz.....here's 5 pics taken earlier today....They are now exactly 4 weeks old free swimming and growing out in 4 separate situations....The 5th pic is of their older cousins grown out from a March 2007 batch , what remains of their batch anyway, still have about 100 of them in two tanks, the rest are now at LFS or on their way there
Pic #1 about 400 - 500 in 20g long tank, the initial growout tank from hatchout tank.
Pic #2 about at least twice as many as in Pic #1. These were split from the group in first pic and moved to a 29g tank.
Pic #3 has about 200 of them in a 20g high tank. This group were the ones knocked off from the stick to safely transport them home.
Pic #4 has about 50 of them in a 4 gallon unfiltered box. These guys were siphoned out accidentally during cleaning of tanks in the first two pic. From experience they don't do very well when returned with their siblings. Their ordeal weakens them and get disadvantaged when competing for food with their unaffected siblings.
Pic #5 is of a smaller batch collected 3/11/2007. Most of them have already been sold to an exporter. Just thought you may have a peek into how these PB fries will look like when they get bigger. They get even prettier when they reach 4-5 inch. Have several threads in the PB section with pics of them at that size in 2006.
OMG unreal ................. just from finding a stick with eggs.......... wholly torledo....great pics.. they are sooooo nice!!! I wish i had some really big tanks for a few of these guys.. your something else ...
