Hey guys I have 3 silvers but I want to know what would be the "smallest/decent" tank that I could go with. I know I shoulden't be talking about the smallest tank but I was looking into a 220gal. and it was price quoted $1,475 w/out hood/lights/stand which is WAY to expensive for me. So I just want to know what would be the "decent" tank size for 3 silvers or 2 silvers. Thanks

oooo silvers are the biggest type of arow which can grow to about 4 feet even in captivity. for 3 silvers ull need at least an 8' by 3' by 2.5' tank...seriously...

yea i never figured the point of tubs besides commercial purposes because there cheaper but there not much enjoyment for personal pleasure no view and stuff, yea it makes its harder for you to find stuff because your not i ncontinental us
good luck with your search im sure youll find something sooner or later dont know much about aros but deffinitely need like a 8 by 3 by 3 im guessing

id say a 180 8 long and 2 wide? i think?

currently I have two silvers 24" & 21" in a 180g tank which most likely is the same footprint as the 220g 6' x 2' the 220 is just 6" higher. The two silvers in this tank works, but they are crowded. I believe 3 at this size would be just to much.

My plan is to have my two silvers and black aro share a 8' x 4' x 30" tank, whether that will be ok to house three 36" plus aro, only time will tell.

I do believe that a tank with 8' x 30" x 24" dimensions, you would be able to house three silver aros until they are 30" long. It could take between 5-8 years for the aros to reach that length.

First off alway look for use tank, Might be harder to find in hawaii but Keep looking because it seem like you are just thinking about upgrading the tank. For 2 silver i wouldn't go anything below 8' x 3' x 2' but for 3 i would make it 8' x 4' x 3'. Gl with your plans.

A standard 180g is actually only 6 foot long. An 8 foot long by 2 foot wide tank that is 2 foot deep is a 240 gallon. For three silvers I think this tank would only be good for a 2-3 years(untill the aros reached the 24-26" length).

For a fish that can grow to 3'+ in length?! :screwy:

It is said that they can grow this long, but how long will it take? How many 30plus inch silvers do you even see posted on this site?

My point was more that a 2' wide tank will only be enough for a few years, if you want to keep them for a long time you'll need a 3' wide tank. They may slow down a bit at around 2', but they will still keep growing...
