Smallest tank for 3 or 2 silvers?

yea I have 3 ponds..but I have a toad problem since where I live it rains a lot so I always find toads/eggs in my pond which aint good for the fish. Yesterday 4 of my koi's died and I found like 100's of tadpoles man I was pissed!!:irked: . My uncle has 2 28" silvers in his HUGE pond...

As for building my own tank...I dont think I can trust myself :nilly: but if I come to it then I would give it a shot...as of right now...I will pass.

Hey,

In your climate, what about a covered pond! I know it's not the same but you will give the fish all the room they need. I live in central Florida and had several large koi in a 10' diameter pond for several years. This was an above ground swimming pool consisting of a metal frame and plastic liner. Probably was a few thousand gallons for a few hundred dollars.

The other thing you could buy is the fiberglass vat with a glass window. They have been seen on MFK several times, they are imported from Malaysia, Hawai`i may be a receiving port. I hope to get one this week. I have 1 Silver Aro and several large cichlids in an 80 gal that need a big home soon! The good news is they sell them about an hour from my house. They are also around $1,000 but you get alot more space (but with less view) for your money.
 
My arrow is 3ft + & there is no fn way he would live in a 180, or a 220, or a 350... Get serious take out a measuring tape??? He is 12 inches tall, he would not be able to turn around. Like many have said PLEASE get a pool or something so the fish does not have to suffer.
 
Best I can do will be a 8' x 4' x 30", If/when my aros get that big they'll have to go to the public aquarium.

Thats what I was thinking to put a window in my pond..to make it like a pond/tank..but im a tank man..thx for the input!:headbang2

well..not all of us can just get huge ponds..beacuse of space.. My pond is bigger than I need it its just I asked what would be the smallest tank..for 1 im not a fan for ponds and 2nd to have a huge tank in your house/paito is just SICK!!!!!:eek:
 
check out this site http://www.garf.org/tank/buildtank.asp it will give you all the directions to build your own tank, all you gotta do is type in the dimentions you want your tank to be and it calculates everything for you. Plus just spend some time on some of the DIY threads of those that built monstah tanks and get advise and ideas for yours. I plan on building one for my aro, i'm actually thinking of buying two more so i have 3 aros, but i plan on building aleast a tank 8'x4'x30". It's actually cheaper to build a monstah tank then to buy one. I agree a huge tank in your patio or living room is bad ass!
 
can't the aro eat the tadpole? am i missing something?
