Hello; Yes one of the implications of the way he reported his alleged attack was it might set off some sort of revenge maybe even to the point of a riot. I get this is speculation but there have been riots started over similar incidents in the past.
Near as I can tell from the news the deal Smellit made is something like a very sweet plea bargan. He did pay a mild fine of $10,000 and somehow was given credit for some 18 hours of community service. Near as I can tell he just did not have to plead guilty and there was not a gag order placed on him.

Hello; I do think the police released a statement about that in the past. I have not heard what will happen to them.
I've been going back and forth about a few things with some of the fellas over on another forum...Mayor Emanuel made some pretty strong public statements blasting the way that this mess has been handled by the prosecutors.Most on the forum view Emmanuel as a slimeball.I'm no fan if his either but I was saying that it was good of him to say the things that he said rather than parrot what the defense and prosecutors were saying. The other posters give him no credit for speaking out and claim that he is a liar and was only saying what he was ordered to from above.
Smollett should be scrubbing toilets up in Jolilet, but it's closed now.

Now I believe Fox is hoping for a political position in 2020 that will never materialize.
Hopefully all of the communications were logged, etc, and the trail will become known.

Well well well......just heard that Chicago PD is not backing down,they have released the investigation files despite the court's ruling that all files and records be sealed.
The SA Foxx (Sorry, has two x's in Foxx) was already under investigation before this started. The feds are looking at her for various crimes of obstruction and influence peddling.
