Do you have any other inverts?
You could use a snail-away type medication..

I used it once on a betta tank I had that was over-run. They were all dropping off the glass and dying within a minute of adding the treatment.

It was incredible, make sure you remove as many of the corpse as you can. Once they start to decompose it will add a huge load of waste to the tank, and it can cause an ammonia spike.

Use such a treatment as a last resort though. Be aware it will probably kill any other inverts in the tank too. I think they are copper based usually too, so will mean the tank should never be used for a marine setup.

Yea, a chemical treatment is probably the only option that is truly going to eradicate the snails, but of course beware that it doesn't harm your other fish

assasin snails would do the exact same thing but its a more natural way and they might take 1 or 2 days but they would also eradicate the other snails, and you could keep them in the tank for future use if you ever had problems again

A chemical treatment is a more surefire way, it simply infects the water and kills all the snails in it systematically. Assassin snails would be great if the OP could find some and they successfully kill as his snails, but if the infestation is that bad, assassin snails would be quite as efficient. Again, chemical treatment is only a last resort.

dwarf puffers dont just attack snails they attack other fish in the aquarium too, I tried one not as a snail remover but as a pet and it killed $60 in fish

Just be aware that is you use chemicals then it may be difficult to keep any inverts in that tank in the future. I really think snails are easy to get rid of. Cut back on your feeding and they will mostly die off. They aren't harmful to your fish or plants. They are only an eye sore.

In my 150us ive always had snail infestations, got those bloomin malaysian trumpets, got told clowns would do the job, so i got 5 large clowns, and guess what didnt make an impact, spoke with a mate at lfs, he had the Assassin snails in his shop, said to me they would not do the job in hand, they may take out a couple a month if your lucky he said, also i have dwarf puffers who seem to have no intrest what so ever, the only way over than gutting tank and filter is just catching them in a net at night time when there all up the glass, a pain but hey hoe

why would anybody want to get rid of trumpet snails?

there is absolutely nothing bad about them...

ha they have colinised my tanks and it looks awful sometimes with the everywhere, bloomin things

a little 3/4" fish killed $60 in fish? that would be a sight! they are known as fin nippers but can be agressive. I have NEVER read about a DP killing another fish :nilly:
