So I really would like to put some more snails in my tank. I had 3 in there for a few weeks before they were taken. I suspect by my 14" bichir but I don't know. Tank stock is
14" bichir
15" Fire eel.
5-6" clown loaches
5" Bala Sharks
Pleco
6" Variegated shark
5" angels
And 2 BGKs
So my question is any type of snails that would fare well with this group? I definitely would like their aid in cleaning up this big planted tank.

The clown loaches can eat some of the smaller snails, also to encourage snails add a slice of zucchini every other day, some of your other fish will also apreciate a slice

I don't remember the exact type of snail. But they were decent size with yellow shell. And the shells were intact just missing the snails when I noticed

Apple snails may is what u may of had, try freshwater murex or rams horn snails , u can also collect wild snails, just b sure to quarantine them before adding to tank

Im pretty sure it was your loaches that took out the snails, if im not mistaken they are part of a loaches diet in nature???

Alright so next question I guess is it worth trying to find snails that can survive the loaches or is it pretty guaranteed that the clowns will eat the snails? Fat Homer Fat Homer

Deadliestviper7 Deadliestviper7 ram horn snails or others if I set up a smaller tank to maybe breed snails to keep them present in the tank and feed the loaches at same time?

Or for that matter what would be a easy breed of snails to keep in a smaller tank and breed. So I can use them to feed loaches and clean up dead plant matter in my large tank?
