Snail type that can survive with a few monsters?

celebrist celebrist will the trumpets end up being a nuisance though?. I know they breed well

Ideally I guess something I can breed the snails in a smallish tank I can snag off Craigslist cheap. And then transfer them to my large tank as needed for cleanup and loach food.

Only if you overfeed.
The problem with overpopulation is 100% the fishkeeper, not the snail.

HarleyK HarleyK well I guess I wouldn't mind overpopulation if I had them in a small breeder tank. I'm thinking I probably don't want them in my main tank? What kind of population growth can you expect like per month?

Or what would be the smartest/easy snail to breed to slowly add to main tank to clean and feed loaches. ??

On another side thought. Would it be smart to start my 6-7" loaches on snails? I would love to promote their growth but I don't want to risk their health as they are one of my favorite fish. I've kept all my other fish from any live diet because of feeder fish risk.

I think u can easily breed pond snails in a lighted twenty gallon, u can also breed guppies in it as a snack, as far as a good clown loach diet u can do a mix of zucchini , krill, and peas along with small earthworms cutup

The population is stable if you do not overfeed. It's that simple. Growth depends on food availability. If you only feed what your fish can eat, then you will not have a problem. I have MTS in all of my tanks.

I'm more curious if starting to feed the loaches snails would be a smart move or not. would they be beneficial for growth of the loaches?
