i still vote for the clown loaches. i had a horrible snail problem and i bought one to clear
them out and he did in 48hrs. even though i didn't particulary like them i ended up buying another and will probably some more when i get a bigger tank. they are very unique fishes and quite the characters.

P.S. if you get them don't freak out when they lay on the bottom upside down or on their sides

Buy some for your snails, keep them for their character. My favorite fish.

im getting some loaches today .. I know a guy that has a few so im gonna "borrow them" lol... just use them for snail eating then he will take them back..CAUSE I HATE SNAILS..

I wish my large and incharge pleco would just suck em up... make my day ALOT easier BUT... win some and ya lose some

The loachs will clean up the snails pretty well, the problem is they never get every last one. When you take the loachs out the last few surviving snails will just go wild again

But there is no reason not to just keep a small group of loaches in most any tank, can be clowns, or one of the other smaller species if the tank is smaller. There may allways be a few snails lurking in the tank, but you wont ever have a plague of them if you keep loaches

Plus they are just neat fish, I recommend people get some, even if they dont have snails

If you don't have live plants use an ALGAE DESTROYER that will kill anything with out an invertebrate or COPPERSAFE will do the trick, if you don't want to introduce new fish to your aquarium or if your aquarium is too aggressive for the little loaches/puffers
