make sure you do as guppy suggested snails reproduce when theres food for them to eat if you look on the surfaces around the tank you're likely to see eggs every if you dont remove them good luck keeping up.

well the cucumber did not work not one in there in the morning , i really had high hopes for this way , any other ideas ? would be great

Try the same cucumber and just leave it in the tank.. Snails sometimes seem to like old cucumbers.. When they're soft and mushy :) Don't worry about it polluting your tank because it's almost exclusively just water, nothing really there to pollute the water with :)

I have alot of trumpet snails, but I don't really mind them because they're just in the substrate and I hardly see them until nighttime, when they clean the glass :)

I had a really bad snail problem in my tank. they came with an amazon sword. I bought the biggest clown loach i could find. The big fish won't eat the CL because they come with their owns switch blades! they have barbs on the front of their head that poke the big fish and they leave them alone.

I don't know much about your fish but if you add alot of salt to your tank it will slow the snails growth rate and reproduction and give you an upper hand on getting them out faster than they multiply

Goodluck

Did you ever think of actually keeping them? :screwy:

What type of snails are they? Snails like Malaysian trumpet snails are pretty great for your tank for example.

yes i know they help the tank stay clean but they reproduce so fast i dont want them to take over . a freind of mine had them take over and they were so bad that they were cloging his filter and power heads . i dont need that headach just better to get rid of them .
