Snake suggestions

Best way to get your parent ok with it, is to take her to your local petshop. You're really battling two aspects really, one being whether or not shes afraid of snakes, and two, if she will consider a big snake "dangerous".

Have her talk to a knowledgeable person at the shop, let her hear how easy it is to take care of - another worry is that she will have to clean up after it and do the work that - well lets face it - a lot of kids won't do.

Let her see you or the employee handle the snake you want, so she sees that it can be tame.

Show her you've taken the time to really research the proper care for it and that you're going to put the work into owning a pet that will live for probably a quarter to half of your lifetime.

If you're planning on a big snake 6-7"+ that will get that large if not larger, find a good a suitable way to handle said animal.

Again, come to it smartly and your parents will hopefullyrecognize it and seriously consider it.

THANK YOU!!! I may get it for an awesome January B-day present. I am also selling some old crap for money and space for the boa.

good luck with whatever you get, when it gets closer to that time then you can let us know your situation.Anything can change from now to then.Good luck.Something nteresting you can do is start studying the natural habitat that your snake pic is from.I find it all more interesting to get more info on their land and the ppl around that share it.Just a thought.

there are a couple of threads on here that have dealt with trying to convince parents to allow reptiles, particularly snakes, have a search through. Although every person is an individual, so what have they got against keeping snakes? Gotta remember though, their house, their rules whether you like it or not.

they think one is enough, but every snake keeper NEEDS a boa or python

Well in the end it's their decision, but you can always ask and explain you know what your doing and the situation to keep it etc. If you already have a snake and they just don't want more though that might tell you something...
