Hi, pellets are great to use for channas but I prefer foods that are more compatible to the fishes natural foods,using pellets as a treat.

and that depends on what you feed your feeders.. and pellets are probably the best food you can get, so why don't skip one step and just get them on pellets right away?
A varied diet is probably best.
Raw market shrimp, dried shrimp, frozen fish, smelt, beefheart, squid, fd krill, live crickets, mealworms, earthworms, (Hikari & NLS) pellets.
Also will catch and feed flies buzzing in the air, the fish love it!

Nah, ive given up - I couldnt bear to see their little hungry faces any longer ....... Ive failed miserably .... Ive read all of the above and hoped that your collective wisdom would prevail . . . . . after 6 days of starvation the pleuros still look at hikari pellets like pieces of ****!yeh, theyve had some bloodworm today and they tore the tank up tryin to eat every last bit! I want to try again cos my pulchra has taken pellets from the start and looks stunning - but the pleuros are just juvies (4/5 inch) so im worried bout stunting their growth.
