Snakehead Fishing Meet for PA MD and anybody else!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
All fish kept in captivity are inevitably going to die in captivity if never released to the wild, so if you were to take one home and "kill it" in this way how that would work?

JK of course, cut their heads off......

i may possibly be in im going to try to round up some troops and make a day trip out of it. Instead of bass masters its going to be snakehead masters.

to cichlaguapote - i know it is encouraged to destroy them. Just seeing what the plan was because i know some wont like to catch them if they cant release them alive.

to famous323 - i dont think they taste very good. Im sure someone eats them though. If they are anything like bowfin, they are fleshy and taste terrible.

lol i heard they taste like catfish

By Joe I think you found a clinche in the system. Wouldn't bother me none if you kept one and released it in your large tank at home and kept it there. Now take that in your HR669 and smoke it.

Just keep in mind that most of the people attending are now public knowledge thanks to this thread, and locations where people live are available via IP address'. IDK if it were me and I was going to attempt taking one home I surely wouldn't put it out there in public that I was. ;)

I'm up for it. I think regular bass fishing tackle would be appropriate. Don't bring expensive lures, I'm pretty sure they are gonna get mangled. Steel leaders might be necessary, but maybe just 20lb flourocarbon would work. I'm going out of town on the weekend of the 27th, but I'll be up in that area the weekend of the 12th. My brother used to live ten minutes from the original crofton pond, we shoulda gone and fished some out before they rotenoned the whole darn thing.
