I only do that with fish that are known to be tough and can handle it. For arowanas, I drop a very large shipping bag in and let the fish swim in. Of course, most of the water have to be let out before you can pull up the bag. Once again, you have to pull the head side up first if you are dealing with a large fish. Keep in mine, your water have to be tested. If your water is not right, it needs to be fixed first. Good Luck.
