BOWFIN 100%

Go with the bowfin (Amia calva) it is a much under appreciated fish, they are even reminisent of the snakehead in appearance. here is a pic by Konrad Schmidt. A seasonal source for them is http://www.jonahsaquarium.com/fishlist.htm, the season should be starting about now.

Never heard of them eating cats. Years ago I saw video clip online of a snakehead eating a live mouse. The mouse was swimming in what looked like a 150 and the snakehead swam up under it and ate it whole. The last shot in the video was the snakehead's head with a little tail sticking out. Amazing, I wish I knew where the video was.

friend of mines dad used to have a few snakeheads back in the early 70s and he said that he came in the room and found his cat in the bottom of the tank being eaten by his SH's the cat used to sleep on the lights he said hes not to much of a bragger so i dont know if its true or not but still scary story watch your fingers

One more vote for bowfin.... but, not to suggest breaking a law or anything, there are populations of snakeheads in the US. If you really want one, you could go get one. Of course, if you get caught, its gonna be expensive and you may end up in jail.
