i know someone personally who recieved a ticket from fish and game for trying to sell a snakehead to a undercover warden - its not majorly illegal like ending up in federal prison or alcatraz

It doesn't matter what the individual states' laws are anyway, their all trumped by the Lacey Act.

100%!!!! State laws might say one thing, but they are practically worthless and might as well not even be there when it comes to Federal. Federal laws are the done deal, and its illegal to own any SH's in the United States in any manner according to Federal Law.

Advise you not to try keeping them, you play with fire, you will get burnt.
