Try warm spots. Like under fridge, water heater or washer dryer. Had a Cal King loose for 6 months once in the house. Twice I found a shed skin in an closet. Eventually just walked up on him in the hallway no worse for wear.

check your window frames . in the morning crank the ac to full blast. make shore u got nice sunny window he can find
Once had someone leave a large tank with two columbian boas open at a petstore... Came in the next morning to 2 missing 4ft snakes. Both were friendly, woohoo.. Found ones tail sticking up from behind some boxes right by the front door within an hour. The other remained elusive for a week. I spent all day working on 80+ fish tanks in and out of the supply cabinet hanging 5+ feet off the floor. spotted some ich in a tank and went to open the other side with the chemicals and HOLY $^&@)! there the other snake was curled up and staring straight at me. I screamed like a little girl and came out to the front of the store laughing (snake draped over my shoulders to warm it up) to terrified coworkers ready to call 911 and I think it took me 3 tries to explain! It was more funny than than anything else. Snake was fine but chilled, warmed her, fed her, all was good.

If this thing keeps escaping why the hell don't you fix the lid? Get locks or something. Eventually he'll get out and you wont find him. What kind of Lizard is it?
brown basalik lizard. Theres a peice of glass in my front door of the habitat i cualked a peice of plexy glass over . its got a peice broken out. Lizard or the dog either pushed from inside or dog was snoping outside and prayed it lose. First time i thought i forgot to lock the top. They gota be pushing it out the way
look close bottom left side of glass door u see broken peice. Havent replace the whole door yet. Because i dont no how to remove the glass from the wooden frame it has on one side . Without screwing the wood up.

ps it went couple months befor escapeing this time. It goes threw spells. It will escape i find it useualy waits a month or two then does it again. This first time it ever escaped twice in two days.
been more than a week now with no sign of snake... i offically give up. On the other hand, I now own a ball python
