i Just set up my baby snapping turtles winter tank in the house...he loves it its only five gallons but suitable for the winter months...im probly just gonna give him a rubbermaid container for a more permanent setup..ill get some pics once the tank clears...up from the dust

yeah i know the 5 is too small but he is the size of a quarter...he will be fine for a month till i can get a bigger tank...

You are going to need a stock tank for him, he's gonna get 12" inches total carapace length.

for real. But mine lived in those two-dollar kiddie pools for about five years before we got her a 300-gal stock tank. And now that she's in there, she's become a monster.

But I'd say you're alright keeping it in a five-gallon overwinter if it's less than three inches.

I saw a snapper on Lake Bemidji in MN that had a shell about 24" and a head bigger than a 2 liter pepsi bottle. Bet it could leave your wrist in pieces.

Oh god she looks pissed. I didn't pick that one up, I really didn't know how. I was 15 at the time and my dad was there. No fun when he's around
