Snapping turtle battle scars.

I've never been bitten and I hope to keep it that way. Snappy has snapped at me a lot, but I'm always pretty careful how I handle her (seems weird to say "her").

Once on the show Jack*** Manny put a pretty good size snapper up to Steve-O. It latched on pretty good, Steve-O screamed, and Manny got it off him. It drew a little blood and you could tell it caused some major bruising, but it didn't take a hunk out of him.

has anyone been bitten by their snappers? if so, how big was the turtle and how bad was the bite?

My snapper has bit my hands a few times...while I was wearing gloves. I always wear gloves when picking it up. I've been bitten by chickens as a kid, but they never broke the skin, just pinched and twisted a bit.

I was bitten by a baby snapper that I ha once. didn't hurt and it let go right away.
