Sneak peak - the 190g discus tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice plumbing Jose. I used a Bean Animal inspired design in my overflow box as you suggested. I still have a couple tweeks but the only sound is the humm of the reeflo hammerhead pump. Im moving over 4000 GPH. I tried using ball valves but had to go to a gate valves to get running right.

Do you think the tank requires supplemental means of oxygenation when using this design due to less water / gas exchange at the surface and in the sump?

Man!
I am without a computer for... well forever! But i come back and find Jose is back in full force!
AWESOME! Love all your projects.

One question:

Are you not concerned with detritus collecting at the lower levels of your display tank? Have you addressed this and I just missed it?

Thanks

Thanks! No, not too concerned, never really had an issue with buildup in my tank. Easy to clean it out during water changes :)

=O. that already looks sweet.

Just wait :)_

Cool looking wood. Do you find it locally or purchase it? Here in New York we don't have a great variety for cool hard-scapes like that. Or maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

>.<

Thanks, found it locally. Where I'm there's some really niced aged manzanita at about 5000ft elevation. I went this past weekend but there was too much snow to get up high enough. So I drove back down and I luckily found an older manzanita bush on the side of the road. Not as old and aged as I would have liked, but I still hacked it down :)

Next time I go down to my parents house I'll have to collect some manzanita. They are out in the sticks and the stuff is everywhere! They have some huge old manzanita bushes(basically trees), that would make some stunning pieces.

Hurry up w/ the tank already :)
