No this isn't exactly where I live.

Failaka Island, Kuwait.

I really love that place, I go there at least once a year. It's pretty much every photojournalists dream.
Rich history and hasn't been changed for about 17 years, ever since Gulf War II which ended a year before I was born. I didn't get to live anything of the war which I think is the main reason I'm nuts over trying to picture as much of it as I possibly can.
My father fought along side both the Kuwaiti and American military, all his personal pictures, videos and equipment from that war is now mine, I happen to be very possessive over certain things. :D

I have more pics but didn't have much time to check them out yet.

Comments and critique are both welcome! (Don't be too harsh, my first try at HDR)
Comment and I'll hate you for the rest of your life, critique is much more appreciated lol.

wow that is incredible pics.. i wish i had my fathers pics from the war when he was in IRAN.. so cherish them always... mine were lost along the way... :(

Very good for first HDR attempt. I didn't even notice it was HDR until you pointed it out.

How many exposures, how many steps apart, and what processing program?

5 pictures joined, one stop apart from +2 all the way down to -2
Photomatix did the job, Photoshop is not that good when it comes to HDR.

nice pic
i know nothing about cameras
how is it 5 pictures joined?
lol
:D

It's okay, I'll explain what it is :)
I have 5 pictures at different exposures (2 underexposed dark ones, a perfectly exposed one, and 2 overexposed bright ones) and then using Photomatix I joined all 5 of them and what you get is a high dynamic range imagine (HDR)
