Snook Tank Pics

The Snooks are looking really good! I'm glad that their tankmates are not being rough with them. I like the overall torpedo shape of your collection of fish. It adds even more interest to your setup. The shots of the pikes swimming with the Snooks are great. Keep up the good work!

I was thinking of doing a SA tank with some realativly peaceful fish... I really like these snooks and the tank is awesome... good job Balton.

Thanks bro. These peaceful types are starting to grow on me too....weird huh.

It seems the tough guys know the snooks are no threat to them. The snooks are allowed to swim into the Ornatum's and Grammodes hideout, but if either of those two swim into the others' territory, it's on.

I really like the pike's too, I hope they work out in the long run. All the other cichlids can be sold w/o bothering me at all.

Anyone know just how big of a fish a full grown snook can eat?

One of my 5" Nassa ate a 2" BAT but they are long and thin it couldn't eat a 2" Tiger Barb for example but I was not expecting to see them start dissappearing then I saw one hanging out of it's mouth. That's at least 1/3rd it's size, both Nassa and Snook eat with the same lightning fast gape and suck ambush stlye.

Never thought of mixing them. It would look cool in the tank but I really don't think it would be a good idea. The individual snook variants shouln't be be crossed imho.

It would be a sight to grow them out together. But aren't they found in the wild together? I wonder what the results of a red and green snook are though.

Here's a few more pics. The forth pic is the dominant male. He puts the rest of the shoal in their place. I see no aggression from any of the snooks but him. But nothing serious.

red + green makes brown on the color table.. ewe

Awesome snooks Balton. I walk past red snooks every weekend and have never considered picking them up because I feel the same way about the green being far better.

I don't know if they occupy the same water....I don't think so but I'm wrong all the time lately lol.

It wasnt' until I saw the green that I even noticed them.
