Theres a pond near my house that has crystal clear water and has mayan cichlids, bass, bream, and other fish. i've always thought about snorkeling it, anyone ever snorkel a pond? It seems like clean water, its under powerlines so I would think it free from pesticides and other chemicals, I've never seen any gators in it. It's there year round so its not just rain water. What are your thoughts. I know people swim in ponds all the time but theres always those horror stories about polluted water and all that jive.

Just to clarify its more a small lake, I consider it a pond but my friend calls it a lake, its like 40ft by 40 ft.

Sounds like fun !

just because water looks clear from above doesnt mean youll have good visability only one way to find out go for it!

Youre in florida and make it sound spring fed.. Pass teh snorkel, get the scuba :D

Yeah go for it, snorkel =) People swim all teh time in polluted waters here, from cotton spraying etc. No harms.

lol yup.

if there are fish in it, then I don't see why you can't.

Go for it! I go snorkeling just about anywhere I can, that pond sounds sweet!

who does the pond belong to? or who owns the land that the pond is in?

gators? if there are gators in the area, man,............ be careful. don't do it alone is what i'd advise
