I hand feed mine silversides and squid. You're going to need a bigger tank when that gets bigger. Mine is 2 feet long and still growing.

Im pretty sure a snowflake could live his life out in your tank.

O! and i feed my eels every day. People say 2wice a week but i feed all my fish as much as they will eat each day. They all know their limit. Your eel will find his as well :headbang2

snowflake 1 gobie 0 lmao well I think the snowflake had my gobie for dinner. though the gobie was to big for it but guess not.....

Never underestimate the appetite of an eel. I have two juvenile gymnothorax tile in my community tank and thus far they never bothered any tankmates because they were all too big/too fast. I recently added a gorgeous new orchid dottyback and after 24 hours it was nowhere to be found. I feed my eels half a large silverside each every day, but I guess they were still hungry. Apparently the dottyback must have looked like a cool purple silverside. :duh:

i feed my puffers raw shrimp and clams from the grocery store, my snowflake loves the shrimp and i even saw him grab some clam that was still attached to the shell. he grabbed it and hid. a minute or two later i saw the clean shell(no meat left on it) drop out of his hiding spot! so now i also feed him clam i feed my puffers. i have also saw mine eat big flakes! it was crazy, the first night i had him in the tank i fed my other fish some flakes. he must have smelled it and came right out to check it out. he smelled a rather big piece of flake food and next thing i know hes opening his mouth to eat it. i wouldnt hand feed, the eel might think your trying to feed him one day when your just in doing some maintenance, to each his own though your going to hand feed him or not depending how you feel about it. i was thinking about hand feeding mine but i decided not to and to stick with BBQ skewers. he knows the food is attached to that now that hes supposed to eat. mine also took out a goby of mine, a yellow watchman :( i told him to move from under the rock he was hiding in... he didnt take my advice, i bet he wishes he did now

my green wouldnt take it from my hand but i think by forcing him to we have formed a really special bond. When i walk to the fish store ( thats where he is right now because my tank busted and the 360 is still being built) everyone tells me he doesnt move a bit. The second i walk in he does deathrolls like an aligator and swims all around. Hes ready to play!
