Ok i work at a local lfs got a free stand brand new. 72x18. Can get a oak 180 scuffed up a bit on trim for 378 plus tax or a 220 for 562.50 which would be brand new. leaning towards the 180 but would just like to hear some opinions, "will i really regret missing the extra 40 gallons?"

I would definitely miss the extra 40 gallons when I walked by some fish store that I absolutely fell in love with but couldn't buy because of fear of overstocking my tank.

Neither a standard 180 or 220 will fit on a 72 x 18" stand. They would need a 72 x 24" stand.

get the 220... are you really asking... this is mfk

Why do people ask these questions? This is MFK, MONSTER Fish Keepers. We will tell you to do it big 100% of the time, I promise.

That is, if we're not telling you you did something wrong already.:grinno:

Oops bderick got to it before me...

WHAT HE SAID! :nilly:

since neither will fit a 72x18 stand guess you gotta get a smaller tank, a 150 will fit.
but if it was between a 180 or 220, i'll say 180 because my stubby arms hate trying to work in a deep tank.

lol, MFK always recommend the largest tank. :D
