My cousin is an exotic animals vet so that would explain how she knew what to do with the turtles. Ive heard that mealworms aren't good for turtles but I'm no turtle expert.

My lrs has a tortoise table with baby ornates and asian boxes that they feed chopped night crawlers they buy at fishing stores so I'd give a bait shop a try for sure.
