Channa and Polypterus are the 2 fish that I dedicate all my time to.
I would never mix the 2.

woot! nice ornate!!! wow... the colour would be stunning if the substrate is just alittle bit darker in colour... hmmm... ive always like ornate with black as its base colour... like those with the yellow base colour less... superb ornate u got there!!! congratz!!

You asked about keeping Channa Gachua (which by the way is a species complex, not a single species) with Polypterus, I answered you?
You come across as very snappy and like to pull up people that YOU believe are doing something wrong (not using substrate) when you have very little knowledge of keeping Polypterus yourself.
You know my advice is from experience. Not just hot air. I have kept many Channa tanks, and bred some of those. I also own 6 tanks of Bichirs, at one point owning the complete collection of Polypterus almost twice.
I reckon that warrants me being able to offer sound advice on the subject.
My advice doesn't cost anything, so you don't like it ignore it.
Just get your head out of your ass and stop being so arrogant!
