So I have something I want to talk about...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I can see both sides, especially because the terms
rainbows, danios, and convicts are quite generic.
What species of rainbows, or danios, what variant of convict?
These might determine if I want to move away from my TV, while I probably wouldn't move for zebra danios, I might for bosemanni rainbows, or giant danios.
While I wouldn't want to see each individual fish, I might want to see what shape they are in.
Or...if they are even real.
If I were wanting to sell them, sending out a few pics in an Email wouldn't be much bother.
I'm surprised you didn't have a few phone shots in your craigslist add.

I don't buy anything without photos, I don't care what it is. But a pic of each individual fish, of those species, seems over the top.

FYI - the last seller that I dealt with that didn't post pics in his ad was a couple hrs away, he couldn't be bothered to take pics and email, and I couldn't be bothered to go for a 4 hr round trip drive just for funsies. I later saw the fish posted here on MFK by someone that I know, both were clearly deformed, as were a percentage of all of their offspring.

I also leave my phone off at night, unless I'm on call.

Does he want picture of each fish or pictures of each species of fish?

Anyway Instead of sending pictures, I usually send videos.... not only it shows the tank but also how active or greedy a fish is

But I will only send over once we have agreed on price.

If price no go then no point viewing the pics or videos .... but you still get people that come up with lame excuses once everything has been agreed

He wanted pictures of each individual fish and I listed species on craigslist. Giant danio, pearl danio, zebra danio, Bosmani rainbow, turquoise rainbow, Australian rainbow, etc

And I’m sorry but I have over a hundred individuals for sale, like I said before you don’t ask for pics or vids when you call a pet store. At least I don’t. I call and say “do you have neon tetras, how much and how many?” I’m assuming they aren’t counting dead ones and for cheap fish who cares about tiny details? I don’t ask to have baby convicts to be sexed or pick out the one in two hundred that has best finnage.

Thats crazy...pics of each fish.

Some of my favorite vendors dont like sending out pics. I can understand their reasoning behind it.

I wonder if hes just one of those weirdos messing with ya. Who's gonna look through 100s of pics of danios and neons

Id want pics of the fish you are selling. If you are with in 30 min I'd just come see them in person though. I use to sell corals and some different damsels id always post pics of what was for sale on which ever forum i was using. Ive never used craigs list. I do think its weird though to as for individual pics of those fish.

I think a group pics are reasonable just to verify the health and show the fish actually exist but not individuals.
Still if you want to get rid of them in a hurry then he might be a genuine buyer who can take the lot so it may be worth coming to a compromise, overall though he sounds annoying so probably best to offer them cheap to a LFs a instead.
