Yes sand on bottom, ya we have cougars but not in my neighborhood
 
Is algae actually a bad thing?
Or is it a cosmetic thing?
Isnt algae good for a aquatics?

heya, smooth little rig ya set up... been tryin to find some one on here to help with a filtration problem i have, i have a 130 gal tank with 2x1200 l/hr cannisters but one is sucking air... replaced the hoses and have the pick up about 2.5 feet under the water level.... how else could this be happening?

bendersbits what brand is it? because i had the same problem with my aqua one aquis 1200, it was the taps that were the problem, every now and then it would suck in air and pump it out but i couldn't see any air going through the intake line, at first i was thinking it was the main seal so i checked it and it was all good, still the air was getting in:confused:, so then i checked the inlet and outlet bits to see if there seals were ok, again they were good, still the air was getting in:irked:, so then i checked that the taps were screwed in properly, yep all good,still the air was getting in:swear:, i had to leave it or i was going to throw it against the wall, then the next day for some reason i turned the intake tap to closed then open and it hasn't sucked in any air for months now, i hate canisters, sumps are so much easier.
 
So two 300s are keeping it really warm, i added an eight in jack dempsey, one auratus, cus hes kind of an extra...and 7 goldfish that were in the fountain...the jd folows the pacu everywhere stays rightby him and rubs against him, also, the auratus has decided to be a schooler with the goldfish, its funny to watch
