ok ive gone through all the crevices in my head trying to think of a cool sumthin to do with my 10 gallon, (some of you may be familiar with the Dark Tank thread, and the one about a marine california native tank) and have had to scrap the ideas ive come up with not beceause of financial issues but im not a world traveller and the law is not on my side  . sooooooooooooo, what would u do thats neat and creative with a 10 gallon tank........... open to all ideas cuz im out of um...........

Use it for fighting bettas, JK. I have no idea other than doing a small planted tank. 10gl are small and so hard to come up with things to do with them.

paradise fish .....possibly a pair...........they dont need heat or filter.......bigger (a little bit) & better brother of the infamous betta........

Here's a different idea. I've done this before (mostly around halloween). I painted the tank sides black, used black gravel as a substrate, and obsidian (black lava glass) for rock work. I covered the entire back with wax paper. Below the gravel line, outside and in back of the tank, I placed a 15 watt lamp. I had a regular tank light on top.
The fish I kept were glass cats and indian glass fish/perch. With the top light on it looks like a regular tank of fish. With the top light off and the 15 watt light on all you see are living skeletons swimming around the tank.

Or a very slightly brackish tank containing one purple spaghetti eel and a pair of banded killies?
